Olivier Polge, CHANEL Perfumer, reinvents N°5 and reveals just how perfect and inspiring its structure is. With the subtlety of a goldsmith, he dissected the original formula and immersed himself in each ingredient to understand its exact role. In collaboration with the Parfums Laboratory, Olivier Polge strove to create a new balance and an ideal amount of freshness, which in turn captures the essence of our time. The composition of N°5 L'EAU is less abstract than its predecessors and exudes citrus like sun-drenched honey. In the top notes, lemon, mandarin, and orange are lifted by aldehydes. In the second breeze, you hear the rustling of flowers. Rose merges with airy jasmine and a hint of ylang-ylang, making it more modern than ever. Behind this floral whirlwind lies a new dynamic, triggered by vetiver and cedarwood and softened by notes of white musk. N°5 has never been so natural. So fresh.
